Joker: Folie à Deux is upon us, and the latest trailer has all the fans wondering if the casting people have made the right choice for the two leads.

Joaquin Phoenix instantly became the darling of the critics and fans even before the first movie was released (the first-look pictures were all it took).

Lady Gaga is another story. Her Harley is so much different from Margot Robbie 's that people have met Gaga with a lot of pushback (and it's not over yet).

While we are sure these two will do a fine job of portraying such iconic characters and their stories in the second Joker installment, we are here to share our perfect picks for Joker and Harley Quinn (because why not?).

Not that it's going to be possible in this reality (but we believe in the power of the Multiverse), but Johnny Depp and Amber Heard would totally kill it in these respective roles. Hear us out, we have our reasons!

Depp has a versatile range, and quirky, otherworldly characters (who later turn into psycho murderers) are basically his bread and butter. You can bet that his Joker would be as mad as a hatter!

Heard definitely looks the part. She is blonde, age-appropriate for the character, and there is some craziness behind those piercing blue eyes (and we mean that strictly acting-wise, of course).

Plus, the former married couple has a lot of messy history that could add another level of deep toxicity to the on-screen relationship.

Hopefully, no one leaves any bodily waste on anyone's bed and the movie doesn't get scrapped because of this. Just kidding!

Truth be told, it would be interesting to see Depp and Heard on the same screen again (far, far away in the future).

After all, they are professionals who can learn to work together without bringing any drama to the set, right? Well, at least we hope so.

For now, we'll have to make do with Phoenix's Joker and Gaga's Harley. Joker: Folie à Deux is set to premiere on October 4, 2024, so we'll have to put a pin in our comments until we actually see the whole thing.
