Best Swordsman in 'Game of Thrones' Only Got a Glimpse on Screen: Could Defeat Jaime with Ease

The character had plenty of outstanding fights, but sadly, they didn’t make it onscreen.
Every Game of Thrones fan would agree — this series had everything: from epic duels to massive bloody battles, where blades rang like the music of war. But among all that carnage, the true masters stood out — those whose sword skills didn’t just impress, they mesmerized. Ironically, one of the greatest swordfighters appeared on screen for only a few minutes.
Topping the list of warriors, according to Collider, is Ser Arthur Dayne, the Sword of the Morning, admired by all the Kingsguard knights. His legendary duel at the Tower of Joy — short, yet so intense that it still stands tall years later.
Arthur wielded his sword as if it were part of his body — the two-handed blade in his hands seemed to live its own life and strike down multiple enemies at once. That’s the embodiment of knightly honor and skill!
In second place is Barristan Selmy, a seasoned veteran whose illusions have faded but whose accuracy and cold judgment remain.
Third place goes to the unrivaled Jaime Lannister, the king of the sword and agility — but fate dealt him a cruel blow. Losing his right hand forced Jaime to rethink himself and learn to fight with his left. And admittedly, the scene where he defeats Euron Greyjoy proves he succeeded. If not for his injury, he would undoubtedly have taken first place.
Fourth is Brienne of Tarth. Beneath her sturdy figure hides strength equal to the male knights and a determination to fight until her last breath. Her victories over Jaime and Sandor Clegane are more than enough reason to respect her.
And finally, fifth is the Hound, Sandor Clegane — a charismatic beast with a burn scar on his face and lightning-quick reflexes. His style isn’t elegant fencing — it’s brute strength and cold blood, which often triumphed over more experienced fighters.
