Billy Bob Thornton Teases Landman Season 2 Changes ‘in the Midst of This Tornado’

Taylor Sheridan’s hit show has been recently renewed for another season after an extremely successful start last year.
While fans of Yellowstone ’s prequel 1923 can’t get over the second season’s finale, things are moving forward for Taylor Sheridan ’s other hit series, aiming at expanding his Western universe started by 2018’s Yellowstone.
Launched just last year, Landman quickly became another massive hit on Paramount+ and was soon followed by the announcement of a second season which is currently in the works.
Landman’s first instalment, however, left its audiences hooked on a plot twist that promises some radical changes at M-Tex. Now that the next season has entered its full production mode, Landman’s lead star offers a glimpse into what’s in store for the characters’ future.
Billy Bob Thornton Teases a Bigger Role for Demi Moore in Landman Season 2
In Landman’s season 1 finale, Billy Bob Thornton’s Tommy Norris takes on the position of the president of M-Tex while Demi Moore’s Cami Miller has now become the rightful owner after her husband Monty Miller’s untimely death.
The next season, according to Thornton, will see more interaction between Tommy and Cami since the former now has to teach the latter how to run the oil business.
“You can know something intellectually but what are the street smarts behind it? I know how to deal with these people she’s going to have to deal with. I just tell her, ‘Look, some of these deals you can take but when it gets really weird and difficult, let me know because I know these guys”, the actor shared during Deadline Contenders TV.
Things Will Become Way Different For Tommy Too, Thornton Says
Supervising Cami during her first steps in the tricky oil business will be just one of many difficult tasks Tommy will have to handle. Thornton’s character has been having hard times managing family issues and business hardships, but this will multiply once Cami is in the game too.
“Now I’m kind of executive and a landman and a family man in the midst of this tornado. It makes for some pretty interesting stuff I have to say”, the actor added, but then reassured everyone that his physical look won’t change that radically. “I think the only difference in my wardrobe this year is every now and then I’ll throw a sportjacket over my jeans and crummy button up shirt”, he concluded jokingly.
Landman’s season 2 will air on Paramount+ sometime in 2026.
