Blake Lively’s New Movie Gets an Exciting RT Score Ahead of May Premiere
The sequel to a 2018 posh mystery drama will mark Lively’s first film release since her ongoing legal battle with former co-star Justin Baldoni.
In the past several months, Blake Lively has been making headlines while going forward with her accusations against It Ends With Us’ co-star Justin Baldoni, though now the actress is back to work with a very promising upcoming movie.
Coming as a sequel to Lively’s mystery drama from several years ago, the future film, just like its predecessor, also stars Anna Kendrick in one of the leading roles and has just received its world premiere at the South by Southwest Festival.
While there’s still a couple of months before the film will arrive on Prime Video, fans of the original movie can be reassured they didn’t wait for nothing all this time, and the upcoming flick’s early RT score does confirm so.
Another Simple Favor Debuts With 70% RT
A Simple Favor’s long-awaited continuation, Another Simple Favor does seem to have had a promising start as it currently holds a score of 70% based on 23 reviews. The percentage is likely to alter as the movie will receive more reviews ahead of its premiere on May 7.
However, most of the already existing reviews stocked on Rotten Tomatoes speak highly of Paul Feig’s sequel, highlighting the movie’s ability to stay faithful to the same story without repeating the original film’s premise.
Some others weren’t so satisfied though, claiming that Another Simple Favor might disappoint its viewers with the lack of suspense and comedy that A Simple Favor had more than enough to entertain its audiences with.
Generally, Lively and Kendrick’s chemistry on-screen is the most frequent theme to stumble upon in the reviews, so fans might at least feel relieved about the favorite duo’s compelling next appearance together.
Another Simple Favor Will Take Its Viewers to a New Exciting Location
Unfolding its story after the mysterious events of the first movie, Another Simple Favor reunites Lively’s Emily and Kendrick’s Stephanie as they both travel to Italy for the former’s extravagant wedding ceremony with a rich Italian businessman.
However, even in the luxurious Italian landscapes there’s still some place left for another mysterious murder and major betrayals that might have an even more shocking outcome than everyone could have expected.
Another Simple Favor will arrive on Prime Video on May 7.
