True friendship can happen anywhere.

Blue Bloods is a successful police procedural that has captured the attention of its fans for 13 seasons. And while all of us are still waiting for season 14 to be released, we had plenty of time to dig up something interesting about the show or the cast members.

Since the main star of the show is Tom Selleck, it all starts with him. In the show he plays Police Commissioner Frank, the head of the Reagan family. There are also several other family members – his father Henry and his children Erin, Jamie and Danny.

As it often happens, the cast members of long-running shows become true friends. Well, it's no surprise since they spend so much time together on set.

Donnie Wahlberg, who plays Danny on the show, confirmed this after telling TV Insider how close he and Selleck became off-screen. According to the actor, they really developed a significant bond.

Wahlberg also made it clear that there was a lot of pressure in playing the son of such a fundamental character. But with Selleck's help and belief, he was able to really dive into his own character, Danny Reagan.

Although, as the actor mentioned, despite both being truly committed to their roles and the show in general, they use different approaches to acting. Wahlberg pointed out that Selleck is very focused on the process of filming. He also uses all of his life experiences to make a better character.

Wahlberg, on the other hand, is more concerned with using the full spectrum of his feelings and emotions, as well as his personal instincts.

As Donnie Wahlberg confessed to TV Insider, it's a real blessing for him to be a part of a show that's not only successful, but so meaningful that fans around the world gather to watch it on Fridays at the same time.
