Brad Pitt Says This Bradley Cooper Musical Drama Is “One of the Best Movies of the Decade”

F1: The Movie’s star had some praise for Cooper’s 2023 Oscar-nominated biopic — here’s what Brad Pitt said about the movie.
Bradley Cooper has spent years trying to earn some attention and recognition from the Academy, though he doesn’t have to do this much to get the same from his fellow actors.
Having received his first Oscar nod in 2013 for Silver Linings Playbook also starring Jennifer Lawrence, Cooper has so far got 12 nominations and 0 wins under his belt, becoming some sort of the new Leonardo DiCaprio and waiting for his turn to come up on the Dolby Theatre stage.
The issue has been recently addressed by Cooper’s colleague and fellow Oscar nominee (but also a winner) Brad Pitt who offered some nice words about the former’s most acclaimed works to-date.
Brad Pitt Gushes Over Cooper’s ‘Maestro’, Calls It “One of the Best Movies of the Decade”
While Bradley Cooper himself isn’t preparing any other movie for the release in the upcoming several months, Brad Pitt is everywhere at the same time, promoting his latest sports drama F1: The Movie that arrived in cinemas on June 27.
Particularly, the actor has also made an appearance on Jason and Travis Kelce’s podcast New Heights where he couldn’t resist from praising Cooper’s universally acclaimed and Oscar-nominated biopic.
After admitting that he does consider Maestro one of the best movies released in the last several years, Pitt also highlighted that “the work speaks for itself”, referring to Maestro’s loss of 7 Oscars at the 2024 ceremony.
“Listen, he’s been nominated the 19,000th time. You know, if he doesn’t get it, it’s OK. I told the crowd, ‘He’s used to it. He’s a Philadelphia Eagles fan’”, Pitt added jokingly.
‘Maestro’ Was an Acclaimed, but Controversial Game Changer for Bradley Cooper
- On Rotten Tomatoes, Maestro holds scores of 78% and 57% from critics and viewers
- On IMDb, the movie is rated 6.5/10
Ever since the actor kicked off a directing career starting with A Star Is Born, many have noted how visibly desperate Cooper was to win an Academy Award — in fact, Maestro is still regarded as Cooper’s vanity project aimed at collecting the awards season’s best trophies.
However, the movie received numerous accolades from critics and eventually became one of the frontrunners at the Oscars ceremony, with Cooper being nominated in the Best Director category.
Things turned out pretty badly in the end as Maestro had 0 wins that night; however, Cooper might have more luck with his upcoming comedy movie “Is This Thing On?”, set to be released sometime this year.
