Are we going to find out more in season 4?

Summary:

  • Bridgerton is a romantic period drama adapted by Netflix from Julia Quinn's novel series of the same name.
  • Just like the books, each new season of the show follows a different Bridgerton sibling on their quest to find love.
  • Book readers already know that the show has introduced Eloise Bridgerton's love interest, and it is not Theo Sharpe.

Even though season 3 of Netflix's most romantic period drama, Bridgerton, has yet to be released, the fandom continues to buzz about each of the siblings who are falling behind on their love journey.

So far, Shondaland has told the stories of Daphne Bridgerton, now the Duchess of Hastings, and Anthony Bridgerton, who found his viscountess in Miss Kate Sharma. Colin Bridgerton and his almost lifelong story of friendship and love with Penelope Featherington is next. Who comes after is already decided, but kept under wraps for now.

Readers know that Julia Quinn has mastered books for all 8 children and hope to see each and every one of them adapted. The most intriguing of all is the story of Eloise Bridgedrton, who seems to be getting further and further away from her book counterpart.

Who Is Eloise Bridgerton’s Love Interest?

One of the liberties taken by the show's creative team was the role of Marina Thompson, who appeared in season 1 under her maiden name and then as Lady Crane in season 2 to talk some sense into Colin. In the books, she was a background character who had no direct influence on Bridgerton.

If anything, the woman who almost became Colin Bridgerton's wife was a more important puzzle piece in Eloise's story, as she married Lord Phillip Crane, whom Eloise later happens to fall in love with.

The gentleman who took care of his brother's mistress, proposed a loveless but safe marriage to her, and claimed his nephews as his own, barely got more than a few lines in season 2. However, it was very clear that he was lonely in his own home and took solace in botany.

To make Crane's story more tragic, his wife dies tragically according to the novels. While the show may take a different route to show more kindness to Marina, to properly set up her story with Eloise, Phillip must end up a single father, completely consumed by loneliness. All while his future wife falls in love with someone who wasn't even in the novels!

While some fans believe Shondaland will take a twist on Eloise's story and have her end up with Theo on the show, others believe the creators won't risk ruining one of the canonical couples.

To see what future awaits Eloise in the Netflix show, tune in to Bridgerton season 3 on May 16.
