Fans feel that the release of the prequel this year could delay the premiere of Bridgerton Season 3. And they are tired of waiting.

With the premiere of the official trailer and the announcement of the release date for Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, the radio silence has been broken and things finally seem to be moving for the Bridgerton universe.

But fans, who have been anxiously awaiting updates on Bridgerton Season 3 for months now, are worried that we won't be seeing the next chapter anytime soon.

When it was announced that Queen Charlotte would be released on May 4, many fans were surprised that it had taken so long.

After all, March 25th marks one year since the premiere of Season 2 of Netflix 's flagship show, and it would only be natural to assume that the love story of Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington could be released around the same time this year.

Yes, the gap between the first two seasons was one year and three months, but the delay was explained by the COVID pandemic. The delay for Season 3 seems to have no explanation other than that the prequel needs to come before it.

It was explained earlier that Queen Charlotte would have to air before Season 3 because some of the characters' backstories cross over into both shows. But fans definitely didn't expect the prequel to take over the original show's release date.

With Season 3 still in production, fans are worried that its premiere will be moved to Christmas to mirror the Season 1 release date, or even to 2024.

This theory seems even more plausible since the promotional campaign for Bridgerton, which hasn't even started yet, usually takes a while. And fans are tired of waiting.

"At this point, I'm scared the world will end before we get to see season 3... Don't know if that says more about my faith in humanity or my faith in this show," one of the fans wrote on Reddit.

This sentiment is shared by many dedicated fans who have taken to social media to vent their frustration.

Fans share that they are starting to lose interest, and the lack of teasers or any information for Season 3 doesn't help. It is annoying when highly anticipated shows take longer and longer to release each new season.
