Castiel's Cameo in The Winchesters Seems Inevitable At This Point
We have four more episodes for the trench-coated angel to appear.
After the ninth episode of The Winchesters, fans are convinced that Jensen Ackles is setting the stage for Misha Collins ' Castiel to make a cameo at some point. With all the clues the prequel seems to be dropping, the fandom may finally be right.
The new episode makes it clear that Dean Winchester did in fact mess up the timeline because he decided to travel back in time and fix things — apparently, by "pushing over that first domino," as he put it. These words have left fans scratching their heads, but many are now convinced that Dean is now a time traveler.
But how? This is where fans remember that Castiel is able to travel in time, and if he is (somehow) alive, then he could definitely be the one who helped Dean push those dominoes.
The only problem is: how is Castiel alive? Well, many fans are hoping that in Supernatural season 15 episode 20, when Jack brought the world back to normal after Chuch shook things up, he also brought Castiel back to life. In that case, Misha Collins' character could definitely team up with Dean and help him travel back in time.
The best (and worst) part is that even Collins himself hinted that "a time-traveling angel" could be a great addition to Jensen Ackles' Supernatural prequel.
"When you realize Dean time travelled into the 70s and Misha made a post about the show benefiting from a [time-travelling] angel and you wanna hope but you've been burnt by Supernatural SO MANY TIMES," Twitter user CasIsLoved said.
Fans seem too scared to get their hopes up for Castiel's cameo, but many are noting that social media is sure to explode if Ackles decides to bring the iconic angel back. One fan even has a social media theory about Castiel's possible return.
"What if Misha hasn't changed his profile pic from Castiel because he knows he's not done playing him?" Twitter user JessieTeaSippin suggested.
Of course, both Ackles and Collins are tight-lipped about what cameos can be expected in the remaining four episodes of The Winchesters. Episode 10 will premiere next Tuesday, February 7, on The CW.
