Charli XCX Calls M. Night Shyamalan's Most Underrated Gem "Fabulous"

M. Night Shyamalan is best known for hits like The Sixth Sense and Signs. However, one of his most unusual works, The Village, has remained in the shadows. Here's what Charli XCX had to say about this hidden gem.
Often, movies do not receive the attention and love they deserve when they premiere: either viewers are not ready for such a spectacle, or critics rush to conclusions and disparage the work.
But time puts everything in its place – yesterday's flop can turn into today's hidden gem.

Charli XCX Calls M. Night Shyamalan's 'The Village' "Fabulous"
One of Charli XCX's recent picks was, in my opinion, the most underrated movie by the king of plot twists M. Night Shyamalan – The Village. Her review was short but wholesome:
“i’m sorry but it’s fabulous.”
What Is 'The Village' About?
A giant thicket surrounds the small village. You can't go beyond it – otherwise, you'll fall victim to the monster. At night, all the locals are advised to stay indoors.
The only person who ignores the rules is Ivy Walker (Bryce Dallas Howard), a blind girl who goes out to get medicine for her lover despite her relatives' warnings.
'The Village' Is Unlike Any Other M. Night Shyamalan Movie
The Village is one of the most unusual works in M. Night Shyamalan's career – he hasn't made anything like it since the movie's release in 2004.
It is a thoughtful and vicious film accompanied by spectacular cinematography by Roger Deakins. The Village's visuals are forest landscapes and the mysterious thicket itself, which looks like forbidden territory full of horrors and secrets.
Of course, in the finale, the director has a wild twist in store. But before his signature plot twist, Shyamalan surprises us with the chthonic vibe of a dirty fall forest where Bryce Dallas Howard's character becomes a hostage of the creepy monsters pursuing her.
