It’s not exactly a new trend for Chicago Fire, but Season 12 has been especially brutal in this regard: the notorious revolving door of characters has been going strong in the past few episodes. We’ve lost some of the show’s OGs and even recent arrivals, but there are even more new additions joining Chicago Fire as we speak.

Apart from Jocelyn Hudon, there’s another new star joining the show next episode: from what we’ve gathered, they are supposed to replace Derrick Gibson.

Michael Bradway Joins Chicago Fire

According to Deadline’s sources, Marked Men’s Michael Bradway is scheduled to join the cast in Season 12 Episode 10. Bradway will reportedly portray Firehouse 51’s new firefighter, a charming young man called Jack Damon. The latest addition to the show’s crew, Bradway can reportedly grow into Chicago Fire’s regular by Season 13 if all goes to plan.

Following Rome Flynn’s exit, this might indicate that Jack Damon is planned to be the replacement for Derrick Gibson who recently left Firehouse 51 to deal with his mental issues. Many fans have been expecting Kylie to join the crew since Gibson revealed her whereabouts, but admittedly, that was a bit of a rushed conclusion.

Of course, with the current rate of recurring cast additions, she may still find her way into Firehouse 51 in the upcoming episodes.

Chicago Fire Saw Many Changes Lately

Chicago Fire Season 12 started with numerous cast changes, and the process is still ongoing. First, we said farewell to Kara Killmer, Alberto Rosende, and Jesse Spencer (again); then, Rome Flynn left. As if trying to keep up with the exit rates, Chicago Fire has recently invited Laura Allen, Wesam Keesh, Jocelyn Hudon, and Michael Bradway.

We don’t believe these are the final changes in Season 12, but we still expect Chicago Fire’s cast to somewhat stabilize. Fans are not particularly happy about the notorious revolving door as they just don’t feel the need to emotionally attach to the new characters who might as well leave the next episode — and showrunners must recognize that unless they want viewers to begin quitting, too.
