Criminal Minds Fans Picked Best Profiler, And It’s Not Dr. Reid
No, and not David Rossi.
FBI profilers often become the main characters of TV series: in the second half of the 90s, the NBC show called Profiler was all the rage; then arrived Fox’s Bones, David Fincher’s highly-acclaimed series Mindhunter, The Blacklist, etc.
Such projects always attract a lot of attention from viewers (understandably), but classic is classic: Criminal Minds remains in crime show lovers’ hearts forever.
For 20 Years, Criminal Minds Has Been the Main Series about Profilers
If Dr. Waters from Profiler is unique in her field, Criminal Minds presents a whole team of behaviorists, psychologists, analysts who are able to look into the minds of serial criminals and have the status of an elite team in the FBI.
While real profilers are busy with tedious desk work and do not take part in the hunt for suspects, the characters of Criminal Minds are always in the thick of things: they can be quickly transported to any state in a small, comfortable plane.
In 20 years, Criminal Minds has undoubtedly become the main show about profilers. Over the two decades, the BAU team has undergone many changes – from the replacement of the BAU head to the miraculous resurrection of some agents.
Criminal Minds Fans Picked the Best BAU Agent
But who was the best of all the profilers lucky enough to work as part of BAU? It seems that fans have already found the answer.
One Reddit user decided to ask fans who was the most talented agent on the show, and based on the number of viewers who mentioned him, Aaron Hotchner, aka Hotch, took the title. Square-Salad6564 said:
“From the more permanent team – Hotch. He was trained by the best and it shows.”
Aaron Hotchner, the stern FBI agent, seems like the perfect choice to lead the department. Never one to smile, he suffers a major personal tragedy over the course of the series. But he is played by an actor with a lot of comic experience, Thomas Gibson, Greg from the sitcom Dharma & Greg.
Thomas Gibson's Firing From the Show Was a Major Scandal
In 2016, Gibson was suddenly fired from Criminal Minds, which came as a surprise to fans. Few knew that the actor had repeatedly caused problems on the set and had been arrested for drunk driving.
The last straw was the fact that Gibson had a physical altercation with one of the producers on the set. Gibson attributed the conflict to creative differences, but CBS and ABC would not listen to any excuses and simply fired him.
