With this snack, you’ll be having the best home parties in the entire neighborhood.

While potatoes are fairly considered one of the best side dishes that exist, we often use just the most common methods of cooking it and ignore all the great recipes that are waiting for their moment on the internet.

In fact, potatoes can even be turned into the most delicious potato and cheese balls that will be a great addition to family dinner or the set of snacks you’ll serve while hanging out with friends. Another advantage is that this treat isn’t hard to make at all.

Ingredients: 6 potatoes (about 900 g), 1 block of processed cheese, 60 ml of 15% cream, 40 g of butter, 10 g of salt, 0.5 g of pepper, 1 egg, 30 g flour, 200 ml of vegetable oil, flour (optional).

Boil the potatoes until tender, then mash them, adding cream and a knob of butter right away; this makes the mixture smooth and flavorful. Let it cool slightly, then stir in the grated cheese. You can add a little flour to make it easier to work with your hands. Then form small balls, without trying to make them perfectly round — that way they look more appetizing.

Dip each ball in egg, then in flour, and place them in well-heated oil. They fry quickly, develop a golden crust, and remain soft and creamy inside.

Put the finished balls on a paper towel to drain off excess oil, and serve them hot; they’re great on their own or as a side dish with meat or fish.

Also, you can try serving them with a simple sauce: mix thick sour cream with garlic, a pinch of salt, and finely chopped herbs — this will make the flavor brighter and fresher. If you want a spicier version, add a little mustard or grated cheese.
