Perfectly matches with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, fresh mint or a cup of warm tea.

Even though summer is finally here and we are constantly surrounded by fresh seasonal berries, we often think that making a truly elegant dessert requires complex cake layers and hours of meticulous work with pastry bags.

This recipe for strawberry puff pastry "bombs" can radically change your baking routine and show you how to create a stunning centerpiece without any kitchen drama. The treat turns out so crispy and fragrant that your family will surely be asking for more.

Here’s what you need: 500 g of yeast-free puff pastry, 350 g of strawberries, 40 g of sugar, 1 egg.

For the cream: 200 g of cream cheese, 120 g of Greek yogurt, 30 g of powdered sugar, 8 g of vanilla sugar.

Lightly roll out the puff pastry and cut into squares approximately 8×8 cm. Place one large strawberry or 2–3 small ones in the center of each square. Lift the edges of the dough upward and pinch them together firmly to form neat balls.

Place the pastries seam-side down in a baking pan, close together. Brush with beaten egg, sprinkle generously with sugar, and bake in an oven preheated to 190°C for 25–30 minutes.

While the cake is baking, mix the cream cheese, yogurt, powdered sugar, and vanilla sugar until smooth. Let the finished cake cool slightly and serve with the cream cheese frosting on the side, or spread it next to the warm strawberry buns.
