Criston Cole’s Fate Is Even Grimmer Than Joffrey’s: Epic Death Awaits in 'House of the Dragon' Season 3 — Just Like in Martin’s Books

Finally, the showrunners are sticking to the source material.
I have to admit, I’ve been counting down the episodes of the House of the Dragon not for dragons or court scheming, but to see Criston Cole finally get what’s coming to him. Let’s be honest: he’s basically Joffrey 2.0, and after all his schemes, a soft exit would feel completely wrong.
Insiders say the long-awaited moment will come in Episode 7, Season 3, and it sounds exactly like what fans (including me) have been hoping for: bloody, humiliating, and faithful to Fire & Blood.
Shot at Hankley Common and directed by Nina Lopez-Corrado, sources claim Cole’s head will be mounted on a spike for the army of the Blacks — a grim but deeply satisfying finish.
In the books, Martin left multiple possible fates for Cole, but the show seems to have gone for maximum drama. On screen, he’s portrayed as an even colder villain: a killer, a traitor, and a fanatic of the Greens.
Honestly, I can’t wait. That spike scene is one of those rare moments where fan expectations and story justice collide perfectly, and yes, seeing Cole finally get his due is as cathartic as I imagined.
