Damson Idris Hints at 'Black Panther' Future While Denzel Washington Joins the Fold

Coogler’s sequel stirs buzz with major talent circling.
The next chapter of Black Panther is gathering quiet momentum, and with it, a swirl of casting rumours — including Snowfall star Damson Idris. During a recent Today interview, the British actor kept things vague when asked about talks with Marvel Studios. "Yes and no," he said with a grin. When pressed, he teased, "It could mean no." But on whether he’d accept a role? A firm "yes."
Still healing after the 2020 loss of Chadwick Boseman, the franchise is clearly evolving. Boseman’s iconic T’Challa passed the mantle to Letitia Wright’s Shuri in Wakanda Forever, but with Ryan Coogler now developing a third instalment, the cast seems set to expand — and surprise.
Notably, Denzel Washington has been confirmed for a role. While promoting Gladiator II in Australia last year, he revealed Coogler was "writing a part" for him — a statement since backed by the director.
Whether Idris enters as hero, rival, or wild card remains to be seen. But with cryptic smiles and Marvel’s signature secrecy, the path to Wakanda is already sparking curiosity — and high expectations.
