Daniel Craig Breaks His Silence on Bondiana’s Ongoing Drama

The actor has portrayed James Bond in five movies and remains a notable part of the franchise. Now we have a statement from him.
One of the few timeless franchises on the big screen, Bondiana has been having hard times in recent years, and the imminent crisis struck it after all.
Apart from not being able to find its new James Bond, the franchise has been long rumoured to be eventually passed into the hands of Amazon MGM’s execs who repeatedly tried to set the deal about artistic rights over the film series’ future.
Now that Bandiana is officially Amazon’s intellectual property, it might be a sad day for those who have been sick and tired of Marvel-ish movie franchises, and Daniel Craig has just joined the list.
Daniel Craig Supports Barbara Broccoli Over James Bond Signed Agreement
As soon as the news broke, the media outlets were quick to reach out to those who had been long connected to the franchise.
In an exclusive statement for Variety, Craig revealed that Bondiana’s long-time producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli would always count on his support as “my respect, admiration and love for Barbara and Michael remain constant and undiminished.”
The actor also added he hoped that Wilson would have a deserved rest during his retirement and Broccoli would still be around with new projects.
“I know they will be spectacular and I hope I can be part of them,” Craig said.
Coming on board for the franchise’s next era back in 2006, Daniel Craig first starred as the worldwide famous secret agent in Casino Royale. He eventually reprised the role for Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, Spectre, and No Time to Die, with the latter being released 15 years after the actor first appeared on the screen as James Bond.
What Amazon MGM Agreement Means for James Bond Movies
Ever since No Time to Die was released, the execs were struggling to come to a unanimous decision about who will eventually take on the leading role; options were numerous, but none of the actors ever had an agreement with the franchise after all.
The rumours about Amazon’s pursuit of intellectual property rights over Bondiana started circulating a while ago and caused another major controversy, since the franchise has been long known as the legacy of its current producer Barbara Broccoli’s family.
With the agreement already signed, Amazon MGM’s plans for James Bond’s next movies include a Marvel-coded expansion of the franchise’s universe, as the company is currently coming up with the ideas for prequels and spinoffs.
