It's not Prisoner of Azkaban.

In a recent interview, Daniel Radcliffe was asked to choose his favorite Harry Potter movie. He was given pairs of films and had to choose one from each pair until a winner was determined.

Many fans expected Radcliffe to choose Prisoner of Azkaban, widely considered the best movie in the franchise. However, the actor's final choice was rather unexpected.

Daniel Radcliffe Ranked the 'Harry Potter' Movies and Placed 'Deathly Hallows: Part 2' as Number #1

Initially, Radcliffe had to choose between The Sorcerer's Stone and The Chamber of Secrets, and he chose the latter, admitting that he loved the scenes with the giant basilisk.

Then, he was offered The Prisoner of Azkaban and The Goblet of Fire, and he chose the latter again. The actor said:

“I know everyone wants me to say Azkaban. I know that's how everyone else feels, but I love the stuff I got to do on the fourth movie. It was awesome. I'll take Goblet of Fire.”

When it came to The Order of the Phoenix and The Half-Blood Prince, Radcliffe unexpectedly admitted that he didn't like the sixth movie. Of the two final installments he chose The Deathly Hallows: Part 2.

The finale featured The Goblet of Fire and The Deathly Hallows: Part 2. The latter won, surprising even Radcliffe himself. He said:

“Wow! I'm fascinated. I wouldn't have said if not…Yeah, interesting. I don't think I knew Goblet of Fire would have been my second favorite film. Although it would have survived if the bracket were different. It would have gone a different way.”

'Deathly Hallows: Part 2' Was an Impressive, Yet Rather Controversial, Finale

When Deathly Hallows: Part 2 was released, many Potter fans considered it the best installment in the franchise.

After a drawn-out and conversational beginning of the end, fans watched the epic finale of their favorite series – the movie gave viewers no time to breathe, constantly bombarding them with magical action and emotional moments.

Now, years later, however, there's little desire to consider the film the best in the franchise. Yes, it's still breathtaking and tear-jerking, but amid all the heroic deeds and heartbreaking deaths, the series' signature magical spirit is missing.
