We all know there are a lot of shows on TV – not to mention the plethora of streaming services available – and that trying to keep up with every show that gets recommended or inspires a bit of hype is pretty tough.

In fact, throw in work, sleep, and general life – and most of us have a hefty list of shows we say we're going to watch one day but never seem to get around to.

But Miracle Workers is one to put right to the top of the list.

(Note to self: Maybe it's time to remove from the list anything that didn't even get watched during lockdown).

One of the biggest problems facing Miracle Workers, a dark comedy featuring Daniel Radcliffe and Steve Buscemi, is that it's not exactly accessible. At least not in the way to which we've become accustomed.

The show airs on TBS and can be streamed on HBO Max ( but not for months after the series has ended).

But with season 4 set to hit our screens in January, now is the time to get into the existing trilogy if you haven't already. Because they're all available to stream and the show is definitely worth the wait. And, of course, one of the benefits of watching less fashionable shows is that it's easier to avoid spoilers.

But what's it even about?

In a nutshell, it's a sort of dark rom-com that follows a couple of low-grade angels going about their Godly business while trying to act as matchmakers for a pair of shy nerds who blatantly fancy the pants off each other but could win gold if being awkward were an Olympic sport.

Previous seasons have been based on the afterlife, Dark Ages and Old West. And season 4 takes us to the end of the world.

The show is weird, wacky, and bloody hilarious in a way that only watching it will show you how.

Ok, so it doesn't have a huge fanbase, gets virtually no online discussion, and hasn't won any (or as far as I know even nominated) for any awards.

And yet, it's an absolute treat. So, take another look at that list of shows you're yet to watch, start culling some of the ones that have been hanging around for so long they've started to sprout moss, and put Miracle Workers up at the top of it.
