Daredevil: Born Again Finale, Explained & What Will Happen in Season 2

Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 recently ended, so let's find out who and why ordered Foggy's murder, and who Daredevil and the Punisher will call on to fight the Kingpin in Season 2.
The debut season of Daredevil: Born Again recently received a dramatic finale. Let's analyze the events of the final Episode 9 and try to predict what awaits the characters in Season 2.
True Reason for Foggy's Murder & the Identity of the Person Who Ordered It Revealed
The final episode of Season 1 begins with a flashback. A year ago, Vanessa Fisk offered Bullseye early release in exchange for a favor. He was to kill Foggy Nelson so that the Fisk family could protect their dirty business.
Thus, the writers finally confirm that it was she who ordered the murder of Matt Murdock's friend, cleverly manipulating Poindexter.
We then return to the present, as Matt Murdock saves Wilson Fisk from Bullseye's bullet. The wounded Murdock ends up in the hospital. Matt tells Kirsten McDuffie that Vanessa Fisk ordered Foggy's death, but she dismisses this version of events as a drug-induced delusion.
Kingpin Launches a Hunt for the Vigilantes
Kingpin tries to organize a real hunt for all the vigilantes in New York. Fisk hints to Buck that he will not change his stance on Matt even after he saved him, and wants to make him a sacred sacrifice.
He gives the order to eliminate Murdock. Fisk also tells Sheila to get rid of anyone who is not loyal to him.
Buck's assassination attempt on Matt, during which the city's power is cut, fails and Frank Castle comes to Daredevil's aid. Together they stop Fisk's men, only to learn that one of them has killed Hector Ayala/White Tiger.
The Fisks Are Ready to Do Anything It Takes to Secure Their Dirty Business
Matt and Karen investigate Foggy's case that ended in his death. They find out that their dead friend got to the bottom of Vanessa's scheme, which involved using a port outside of city and national jurisdiction.
The Fisks are now building a "private city" there – for legal money laundering. To protect their business, she ordered Bullseye to eliminate Foggy.
Sheila leaks a conversation with Commissioner Gallo to Fisk – now he knows about the plans against him. The Kingpin's men deliver the Commissioner to the boss, who kills the honest cop.
Fisk's men offer the Punisher a chance to work with them, but he makes it clear that such a prospect is of no interest to him, and he is brutally beaten.
Kingpin offers Heather to work for him, and she agrees. Fisk soon addresses the people of New York on TV, announcing that Commissioner Gallo has resigned and that all masked vigilante activity is now outlawed, and also declares a curfew.
In Season 2, Matt Must Assemble a Powerful Team to Take On the Kingpin
In Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again, Matt will try to gather more people to take on the Kingpin.
At the end of Episode 9, we were introduced to a number of Matt's supporters who will be backing Daredevil. They include Detective Kim, Murdock's old friend Cherryh, and police officers who disagree with Fisk's policies. They may be joined by Murdock's colleague Kirsten and the young journalist BB Urich.
However, such a team will not be enough to win. It is likely that several other vigilantes will join Daredevil's side, in addition to his old friend the Punisher.
We do not rule out the return of the Defenders, who have already appeared in the Netflix series: Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist.
In the Second Season, Fisk Will Face at Least Two More Dangerous Enemies
Kingpin will probably have to deal with Bullseye as well; it's unlikely he's given up on killing him. An interesting plot twist would be a temporary alliance of Poindexter and Daredevil – although they won't be friends after what happened to Foggy.
It is known that The Conjuring star Lili Taylor will play Wilson Fisk's new enemy. The creators are keeping the details of her role under wraps for now, but according to rumors, Taylor's character could cause a lot of trouble for Fisk, even removing him from the mayor's office in New York.
