It's time to finally let go.

There have been plenty of opportunities for Daredevil fans to both celebrate the MCU 's upcoming reboot of their favorite hero's arc and mourn all the changes Disney will be making.

Despite the fact that Matt Murdock's leading man will remain the same, as he'll be portrayed by Charlie Cox, and Jon Bernthal will return as The Punisher, everything else will be completely different.

From the cast to the setting, all the rumors, confirmed or not, point to the fact that fans will have to let go of everything they've seen on Netflix before and come to Daredevil 2.0 with an open mind. While it hasn't been confirmed whether or not the events of the original series will be considered canon, it's safe to assume that they'll be long gone by the time Daredevil's current storyline begins.

One of the most reliable scoopers for Marvel's projects, CanWeGetSomeToast, recently shared on their Instagram that Matt Murdock won't be working for the same law firm he did in 2015. He'll still be practicing law, but at a different firm.

This information dovetails perfectly with the news that Elden Henson and Deborah Ann Woll, who portray Foggy Nelson and Karen Page, respectively, will not be returning to the Daredevil universe.

It would be hard to imagine Nelson & Murdock without Nelson, just as it is hard for many viewers to imagine their favorite character starting over in a completely different setting.

While it's important to approach any reboot with an open mind and be grateful that the hero you love is getting the screen time he deserves, it's also hard to beat the nostalgia associated with the story many originally saw and loved.

Furthermore, by taking away Foggy Nelson and Netflix's ratings, Disney seems to be taking away two major components of what made Daredevil as great as it was. Humor and violence, beautifully intertwined in every episode. The only hope is that Charlie Cox would be able to cover for them both.

Daredevil: Born Again is currently scheduled to premiere on Disney Plus in 2024, but the premiere may be delayed due to the ongoing writer and actor strikes. Stay tuned for more news and updates!
