And no, it’s not a concert or a movie remake.
I didn’t expect to tear up scrolling through metal news, but here we are. Ozzy Osbourne — the one and only Prince of Darkness — is gone. Seventy-six. Surrounded by family. And suddenly the world feels a bit emptier.
But in true Ozzy fashion, even after death, he left us something wild to talk about. I came across an old clip from The Nerdist, where Ozzy was asked who he’d want to play him in a biopic. His answer? Not Johnny Depp. Not Christian Bale.
He said: Denzel Washington. I actually laughed out loud. And then thought… I’d pay to see that.
And guess what — that movie might actually happen. Weeks before Ozzy’s passing, his son Jack confirmed to the Sun that the film is in development with Sony, a script already written, and a "die-hard fan" director on board.
Jack said it will cover Ozzy’s early years, his love story with Sharon, and his rise with Black Sabbath.
The film has been in the works for a while, and according to Jack, it's now entering the rewrite phase. If all goes well, production could kick off as early as spring 2026.
Honestly, I’d watch it for the chaos alone. But now, it feels personal. Like a last gift from Ozzy to all of us weird kids who grew up loving him.
