Excuse us, what?

When there is a big premiere at a fancy movie festival in Venice, you hardly expect castmates to spit on each other, don't you? Well, that's why 'Don't Worry Darling' fans are now scratching their heads, brainstorming, and zooming in on certain footage from the Venice Film Festival premiere.

Because yes, there is a firm belief that Harry Styles has actually, pretty seriously, spat on Chris Pine.

Every Bit of 'Don't Worry Darling' Drama, Explained

The incident took place when the castmates were getting sat at the premiere. Pine had already taken his seat when Styles approached his own chair right next to him. But before sitting down, Harry appears to make a signature move with his lips that does look like spitting. What makes things worse is that Pine reacts exactly like someone would if spit landed between their legs but they were not allowed to go ballistic about it in public.

Pine takes a moment looking down between his legs and then tensely smiles and continues clapping.

This is the very video clip that has been bothering fans for several hours now. Because, no matter what happened between the two, you just wouldn't spit at somebody while at the Venice Film Festival premiere… would you?

"the don't worry darling drama is getting more and more absurd like what do you mean harry styles [spins wheel] spit on [spins wheel] chris pine." – @spidermannwh

What's even more absurd is that it seems that Styles will be forced to address the allegations, even if he never did the thing he is accused of.

"the "i did not spit on that man" notes app apology harry styles will soon be forced to tweet is already shaping up to be an all-timer." – @been_herde

Many fans think that people are simply exaggerating the spitting allegations.

"Chris pine just wondered where his sunglasses were after the applause. And he zoned out (likes he's been doing all day) and realised it's in his lap. So I am sorry to say harry styles did not spit on him," Twitter user @cinemazietgeist explained.

Chris Pine indeed seemed zoned out throughout the event, with fans turning his apparent disassociation into a meme. However, the drama has now reached the level when we might actually need some explanation from the participants themselves.

After much talked about Venice Film Festival premiere 'Don't Worry Darling' is opening in theaters September 23, 2022. So far the only one who openly spoke about all the drama surrounding the movie and its release is Olivia Wilde, debunking the rumors about her alleged feud with the lead actress Florence Pugh.
