Remember how time travel worked in 'Avengers: Endgame'? Yeah, well, forget it.

Warning: the following article contains spoilers for 'Ms. Marvel' episode 5

Wednesday 's new episode of 'Ms. Marvel' has confirmed that Kamala Khan was indeed transported back in time to help her mother survive the Partition and get on the last train. But by doing that, the showrunners might have accidentally retconned the rules of time travel in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In 'Avengers: Endgame', it was established that time travel essentially creates an alternative timeline that just sprouts out of the original one and they co-exist simultaneously.

What 'Ms. Marvel' did does look more like a closed time loop that also seems to completely ignore the rules of time paradoxes that have been explored by many movies and TV shows before. According to everything we know about time travel, a granddaughter simply cannot travel in time to save her grandmother's live because that is logically impossible.

There is some hope that the final episode will figure that out, but currently, it looks more like a major plot hole or a retcon for the majority of fans who have already watched the episode.

However, there are people who are perfectly fine with the time travel mess even if it is a mistake.

If it is not a mishap, then we'll probably get to know more in the upcoming season finale, slated to premiere on Disney Plus on July 13.
