It might be warm and sunny outside, but who will deny a bowl of hearty and creamy soup anyway? When it comes to choosing something new and exotic to try at home, many turn to other countries’ cuisines, and this German soup with sausages might be just what they’re looking for. Another big advantage is that it won’t take you more than 15 minutes, offering the quickest dinner option for the entire family.

Here’s what you need: 3–4 potatoes, 1 carrot, 1 onion, 150–200 g of sausages, 2 tbsp of processed cheese, 1–2 cloves of garlic, herbs to taste, 1–2 tbsp of olive oil, salt and pepper to taste.

Heat the olive oil in a pot and immediately add the finely chopped onion and grated carrot; fry until soft and lightly golden.

Then add the chopped sausages and let them brown well. Next, add the diced potatoes, stir, and pour in boiling water until everything is covered.

Cook for about 10–12 minutes until the potatoes are tender. At the end, add the processed cheese, stir well so it dissolves completely and makes the broth creamy.

Add the minced garlic and herbs, taste for salt and pepper — and it’s ready to serve.
