Though we’re used to thinking that preparing traditional dishes at home will take at least several hours in total, it’s far from being true when it comes to some iconic recipes.
Take the famous sausage and peppers as an example — only three essential ingredients are required, and it only takes several minutes and one skillet of use to make the most delicious dinner for the entire family.
Here’s what you need: 500 g of Italian sausage (mild or spicy), 3 bell peppers, 2 onions, olive oil.
Slice the sausage into rounds, the bell pepper into strips, and the onion into half-rings. Cook the sausage over medium heat until golden brown (about 5 minutes). Remove from the pan.
In the same oil, fry the bell pepper and onion for 8–10 minutes until tender.
Put the sausage back in the pan and simmer for 5 minutes. You can add 2 tablespoons of tomato sauce for extra juiciness.
Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve hot.
