A quickly prepared snack that will be the first to disappear from the table.

Many people are used to thinking that the best and most delicious snacks require some special ingredients that need to be stocked in advance, though this rule doesn’t apply to the recipe for these cheese balls that are tender inside and crispy outside.

To make them, all you need is cheese, eggs, milk and some bread that you were about to throw away just because it’s been there for too long. Well, the good news is that it still can be used in the most delicious way possible.

Ingredients: 300 g of white bread (crusts removed), 1 cup of milk, 2 eggs, 100 g of cheese, dill, cinnamon and salt to taste, breadcrumbs if needed.

Cut the white bread into cubes after removing the crusts, then place the cubes in a bowl and pour in enough milk to thoroughly soak the bread. Let it rest for a few minutes.

When the bread is completely softened, mash it with a fork until it forms a thick paste, then add one egg, mixing thoroughly until the mixture becomes more cohesive.

Next, grate the cheese and add it to the bread mixture, along with salt and a small amount of cinnamon. Mix everything well until it forms a dense, pliable dough.

Wet your hands with water and shape the mixture into small balls of equal size.

Separately, beat the second egg and add finely chopped dill to it. Carefully dip each ball into the egg mixture, then coat it in breadcrumbs to create a crispy shell.

Heat a skillet with enough oil and add the croquettes, frying them until they are evenly golden brown on all sides.

Carefully place the finished cheese croquettes on a paper towel to remove excess oil, and serve hot.
