Drop Survivor Already: Season 48 Got Rid of Its Best Contestant Anyway

Survivor 48 got us all shook when David Kinne was eliminated. Who's going to win now?
Survivor is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. Right now though, we are still in shock and trying to process David Kinne's elimination.
Even before Season 48 came out, Kinne was getting a lot of praise for bringing back the OG Survivor vibe. And after the premiere, our guy did not disappoint.
David Kinne Talks His Survivor Elimination: ‘I Made a Mistake'
In Meet the Cast to Parade, Kinne described himself as “Passionate, Daring, Curious.” He believed that self awareness could help him become the Sole Survivor. He said:
“I know who I am, what I am capable of and more importantly, how others will perceive me. I will have to face all of these and will use them to my advantage.”
Well, unfortunately that proved to be unsuccessful. In a recent interview to Vulture, Kinne opened up about his elimination, saying:
“The challenge was the toughest part because I knew I should have won. I had a lot left. I made a mistake. Good on Joe, not taking away from his win, but knowing that I came here to prove myself, the challenges should have been the easier part of that. I knew when I lost that challenge I was probably going home.”
Fans Are Still Not Over David Kinne Elimination
“David was the exact type of player that defined the best part of Survivor in my opinion. He wasn’t out there to be the sole survivor, he wasn’t out there chasing his dreams of playing survivor. He was there to make a million dollars and change his life. There was so much at stake for him personally. Not to mention, he was the best villain of the new era because he didn’t know how to conform to the modern play style cause he doesn’t watch every episode 5 times,” Redditor Alone-Opportunity-17 said.
“I just want him [David] back for new era all stars with him on one tribe and Jonathan on another,” Redditor Esteban2808 suggested.
Who Will Win Survivor Season 48?
Now that David's gone, we have all eyes on Kyle as the potential frontrunner.
“I’m definitely good with a Kyle win. He’s been fooling all these fools all along,” Redditor Intelligent_Pop1173 wrote.
Where to Watch Survivor Season 48?
The remaining cast continues their quest for the million-dollar prize every Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
