Grief, awkward hugs, and one viral scene that says everything.

I just watched the Twinless trailer, and wow — I wasn’t ready for how quietly devastating it would be. Yes, it’s branded as a dark comedy, but behind the quirky one-liners and awkward hugs, there’s something much deeper gnawing at the edges.

Dylan O'Brien plays Roman, a man reeling from the loss of his twin, and every frame feels like he’s holding it together with duct tape and denial. The moment he meets Dennis (played by director James Sweeney), the chemistry is weirdly perfect — grief meeting grief in the most human, uncomfortable way.

What struck me most? That strange blend of humour and heartbreak. One second you’re smirking, the next you’re gutted. Also — the vibe. Grief groups, twin jokes, supermarket sadness? It’s giving indie A24 energy, but with more memes.

And yes, I clocked that scene — no wonder it went viral. Dylan’s clearly in his emotionally feral era, and I’m here for it. This one’s going to hit hard. I can already feel it. September can’t come soon enough.

Did the Twinless trailer hit you in the feels too
