The most delicious (and cheapest) drink you’ll ever make in your own kitchen.

Even though not many will dare serve cocktails or any other kind of home-made drinks at their party, many will likely opt for authentic Spanish sangria that’s actually extremely easy to make at home.

All you need is just one bottle of wine, a couple of fruits and spices — be sure to surprise your guests with the most delicious Spanish treat.

Ingredients: 1 bottle (750 ml) of dry red wine, 1 orange, 1 lemon, 1 apple, 1 peach or nectarine (optional), 2-3 tablespoons of sugar (to taste), 50 ml of cognac or brandy (optional), 200 ml of sparkling water or soda, ice (optional), 1 cinnamon stick (optional), mint for garnish.

Slice the orange and lemon into rounds or half-rounds, leaving the peel on. This will give the drink a rich citrus aroma and an attractive appearance.

Cut the apple and peach into small cubes or slices. If you wish, you can peel the apple.

Pour a bottle of dry red wine into a large jar or bowl.

Add the sliced orange, lemon, apple, and peach to the wine. You can gently mash the fruit with a spoon to release the juice.

Add 2–3 tablespoons of sugar and stir until completely dissolved. You can adjust the amount of sugar to your taste. If you want a richer, stronger flavor, add 50 ml of cognac or brandy.

Cover the jar with plastic wrap or a lid and place in the fridge for at least 2 hours so the fruit infuses its flavor into the drink. The longer the sangria infuses, the richer the flavor will be.

Before serving, add sparkling water or soda to the jar for lightness and freshness.

Place a few ice cubes in each glass and pour in the sangria. Make sure each glass contains pieces of fruit.

If you like, add a sprig of mint or a cinnamon stick to the glasses for flavor.
