Elsbeth Season 3 Confirmed by CBS: Everything You Need to Know

The legal drama with the quirkiest titular character will be coming back on our screens.
There's nothing like the feeling of finally getting what you wanted, right? So when your favorite shows get renewed, you feel like the world is yours, because you just can't stand it when a perfect show suddenly gets canceled.
It would be a huge hit and miss for CBS to let go of the network's hit legal drama. Finally, the network has announced that Elsbeth 's fate has been decided. There will be a season 3 after all!
The renewal comes on the heels of a successful second season, which is coming to its end soon and managed to average 11 million viewers across platforms in 35 days, a milestone that all but guaranteed another season. The fans couldn’t be happier, and are already suggesting the preferred storylines for the next chapter.
“Excellent news! I haven't seen the latest episode, but I sure hope we get more of Ioan Gruffudd, and that he and Elsbeth have a nice relationship. The previous episode, with him in Scotland, was lovely,” Redditor joeyGibson said.
Right now, there is no information on the release date for Elsbeth season 3, but fans on Reddit have already shared the alleged pictures from the new season’s shooting.
Along with Elsbeth, CBS has renewed Fire Country, Tracker, and the three NCIS shows.
What Is Elsbeth About?
Premiering last year, Elsbeth is a spinoff of The Good Wife, but focuses on the character of Elsbeth Tascioni, the quirky yet sharp-witted attorney brilliantly portrayed by Carrie Preston. The show follows her to New York City, where she becomes part of the NYPD and tries to navigate a new turn in her life.
The show also features the beloved Wendell Pierce as Captain C.W. Wagner and Carra Patterson as Officer Kaya Blanke. Together they form a team that is both frustrated (at first) and impressed by Elsbeth’s unorthodox yet effective methods.
Each episode focuses on a case that Elsbeth and the team must solve by the end of the hour. And while the viewers know right away who the killer is (yes, the cases are mostly about murders), Elsbeth makes it her mission to follow every little detail and find the answer, which sometimes seems too far-fetched.
Elsbeth has been praised for combining crime procedural elements with witty humor, the two of many things that turned the series into a standout on CBS. So the news about renewal is a blessing for the true fans of the genre.
Each new episode of Elsbeth airs on CBS on Thursdays at 10 PM ET, and streams the next day on Paramount+.
