Sisu Will Be Available for Watching for Free Starting From Next Week
The movie, initially released in 2022, is now likely to receive a second chance to gain the audiences’ attention as it’s now scheduled to arrive on The Roku Channel’s platform on March 29.
Set in the last days of World War II, Sisu stars Jorma Tommila as Aatami Korpi, a solitary prospector accidentally crossing his paths with Nazis somewhere in northern Finland.
Seeing him as no one else but an ordinary country-man who they can take everything from, the Nazis steal Korpi’s gold, but they’re yet unaware what danger they have been facing all along.
Despite being alone against the entire group of brutal killers, Aatami has to prove he isn’t just a harmless miner and embarks on a mission to get back everything that has been taken away from him, and he might not stop until every single Nazi gets what they deserve.
Sisu Is an Overlooked Action Masterpiece With a Nearly Perfect RT Score
Inspired by a real-life figure Simo Häyhä who fought the Soviet Red Army during the 1939-1940 Winter War between the USSR and Finland, Sisu is a gripping and pretty brutal story about the revenge that the invaders have to get once they embark on a fight against common people.
The movie received universal acclaim in both Finland and the US, premiering at the Toronto International Film Festival back in 2022 and then getting theatrical release in the beginning of 2023.
On Rotten Tomatoes, Sisu is currently holding impressive scores of 94% and 88% from critics and viewers, remaining one of the recent years’ best thrillers which many wished would be turned into a whole franchise with video games and more movies or shows to come.
