Seems like Sam Levinson decided not to get back to that story.

Summary:

  • Rumors are spreading that Euphoria ’s season 3 has been canceled after it was reported that the crew would start shooting it very soon.
  • No reasons behind this decision have been revealed, but Sam Levinson may have faced some major problems given most of the cast’s busy schedules.
  • Euphoria’s previous season wasn’t praised as much as the first one which raises a thought whether the canceled season could’ve saved the show or rather ruined it completely.

The excitement that fans got when they heard Euphoria’s third season was about to be shot in the nearest months has now clearly gone away — because it’s seemingly never happening. The first to spread unexpected news was Jordan Ruimy who runs the cinema-related website World of Reel.

According to him, the crew was supposed to start filming the new season this summer (some other sources have previously said that Levinson and the cast wanted to start even earlier), but something went wrong and last Friday the director told everyone involved that they were officially free to sign up for other projects. Though some weeks ago it was reported that Euphoria was definitely coming back, but was just being delayed for unknown reasons.

Nonetheless, the show’s new season has looked pretty much questionable for a while now. Firstly, since Euphoria started back in 2019, so many of its main actors have turned into big stars with quite busy schedules — look at Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Hunter Schafer and many others who became familiar to the world public thanks to their roles in Euphoria.

Thus, the fact that Levinson was trying to bring absolutely everyone back to the shooting set and make their schedules fuse is already something unfeasible.

On top of that, the second season of the show, apparently, didn’t do as well as the first one. Fans were complaining that the plot had lost its right focus by dispersing for several stories at a time without even finishing them properly, thus it never got to talk about something that was indeed important in the show’s universe.

Given the news, we’ll most likely never know if the third season could be able to somehow rehabilitate the show after the failed second one. Be that as it may, Sam Levinson’s series seems to be ending its story on a very ambiguous note.
