That is the sentiment we all share.

Summary:

  • Euphoria is a hit HBO teen drama that focuses on the life of a drug-addicted high school student, Rue, and her friends.
  • The show has released two seasons since its 2019 premiere, while season three is still in pre-production.
  • Jacob Elordi, who portrays Nate Jacobs in the show, hopes filming will start soon as it's getting harder and harder to continue portraying a teenager.

Euphoria must be one of the HBO shows that viewers are most excited to see return. Ever since the last season premiered in January 2022, fans couldn't contain their excitement for season 3. However, the wait has taken longer than expected.

Now, almost two full years after the last episode of season 2 aired, there's little hope that the next one will premiere within a year. At best, that would mean a 3-year gap between releases, which is not ideal, but something the loyal audience can cope with just to find out what happens next.

The only problem is that real time doesn't remain frozen. The actors playing the teenagers are usually older than their respective characters when they are cast, and with each passing year it becomes more and more difficult to maintain the youthful presence without looking cringy in a high school setting.

While the internet can be generally forgiving of their favorite shows when it comes to realism, it's important not to take fandom's kindness too far. If you look at the case of Stranger Things and the rapid growth of the cast between seasons, Euphoria's case might become even more hilarious.

After all, if the Stranger Things characters were going through the transition into teenage and young adult years, the Euphoria cast is in danger of becoming a bunch of adults trying to make the teen drama at least somewhat believable.

Afraid of falling into this absurd image, Euphoria's Jacob Elordi is hoping that filming for season 3 will start sooner rather than later. That's what he told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show.

“I hope it’s soon, or they’re going to have to Benjamin Button me or something. I’m going to have a bad back walking down the hallway, you know? I’m assuming that we’ll have to go forward. Otherwise, it’s going to seem like a weird bit,” the actor said.

The eagerness for Euphoria season 3 to finally start filming is something that Jacob Elordi clearly shares with all fans of the show.

However, with most of the cast in such high demand after the blasting success the show had, it's going to be quite a challenge to manage all the schedules and get them all available.

Keep an eye out for all the Euphoria news and behind-the-scenes updates to make sure you do not miss the release date for season 3. In the meantime, you can re-watch seasons 1 and 2 on MAX.
