This is something unbeliavable.

Imagine buying a ticket to a film a whole year before it hits cinemas. Sounds mad, doesn’t it? But that’s exactly what’s happening with Christopher Nolan’s next epic, The Odyssey.

According to Variety, It’s so anticipated, Universal’s rolling out Imax tickets on 17 July 2025 — twelve months ahead of its actual release.

So why all the fuss? Well, for starters, this isn’t just any old blockbuster. It’s shot in Imax 70mm, Nolan’s favourite ultra-wide, super-detailed format that basically turns your local screen into a mind-blowing window to another world. Think sharper, taller, crisper visuals — with so much detail you could count the beads of sweat on an actor’s brow (if you fancy that sort of thing).

But there’s a twist: these early tickets are only for select showings on proper Imax 70mm screens, meaning not your average multiplex. Ordinary formats? Those tickets will pop up much later. So if you’re after the full Nolan experience, this is your golden ticket (quite literally).

As if to tease us even more, the film’s tagline is "A Journey Begins." Fitting, right? Because for the die-hard fans ready to commit now, the journey really does begin long before the lights dim and the curtains part.

Would you buy a cinema ticket a year in advance?
