8. Season 8
IMDb score: 6.4/10.
Highest-Rated Episode: “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms” with 7.9/10.
The final season featured the epic Battle of Winterfell, in which the Night King and his army of the dead were defeated. This was followed by Daenerys Targaryen's controversial decisions in King's Landing.
What went wrong: the downfall of Daenerys Targaryen, rushed storytelling and unsatisfying ending.
7. Season 5

Highest-rated episode: “Hardhome” with 9.8/10.
In Season 5, Jon Snow became Lord Commander. The Faith Militant rose in King's Landing and Stannis Baratheon marched on Winterfell. Tyrion's departure for Meereen resulted in his first encounter with Daenerys Targaryen.
The season also featured a shocking White Walker attack at Hardhome. Season 5 ended with Jon Snow being betrayed by his brothers of the Night's Watch.
6. Season 2

Highest-rated episode: “Blackwater” with 9.7/10.
Season 2 was dominated by the War of the Five Kings, during which Robb Stark continued his campaign against the Lannisters. In King's Landing, Tyrion served as Hand of the King. Daenerys struggled to find allies in Qarth, and Jon was captured by the Wildlings. The season culminated in the epic Battle of Blackwater Bay.
5. Season 3

Highest-rated episode: “The Rains of Castamere” with 9.9/10.
Season 3 featured some of the most shocking moments in the series, including the infamous Red Wedding, in which Robb Stark and his mother Catelyn were brutally murdered.
Meanwhile, Daenerys continued to build her army of Unsullied, and Jaime and Brienne traveled to King's Landing, developing one of the show's most intriguing relationships along the way.
The season also depicted Jon Snow and his complicated relationship with Ygritte.
4. Season 1

The first season introduced viewers to the world of Westeros. It established the core conflicts that would drive the series, including the rivalry between the Starks and the Lannisters, Daenerys’ storyline and Jon Snow joining the Night's Watch.
The shocking execution of Ned Stark in “Baelor” signaled that no character was safe, setting the tone for the rest of the series.
3. Season 7

In Season 7, Daenerys finally returned to Westeros, landing at Dragonstone with her army and dragons. Jon Snow, now King of the North, formed an alliance with her to fight the White Walker threat.
The season also included Jon's expedition beyond the Wall for a wight, which culminated in the Night King acquiring one of Daenerys's dragons.
2. Season 6

Season 6 began with Jon Snow's resurrection at the hands of Melisandre and ended with Daenerys finally setting sail for Westeros. The season also featured Cersei's destruction of the Sept of Baelor, which eliminated most of her enemies in King's Landing.
The spectacular Battle of the Bastards, in which Jon Snow and Sansa reclaimed Winterfell from Ramsay Bolton, is regarded as one of the show's most visually impressive episodes.
1. Season 4

Meanwhile, Jon Snow defended Castle Black against a Wildling attack, and Daenerys continued to rule Meereen while facing her newfound trials as a leader. The season ended with Tyrion killing his father Tywin and fleeing Westeros.
