When Will 'Dexter: Resurrection' Be Released?
The first season of Dexter: Resurrection premiered in July 2025. In October, series creator Clyde Phillips hinted that the work on Season 2 was expected to begin on October 6 and conclude in early spring 2026.
The official announcement of the second season to Dexter: Resurrection was made in a video posted on the show's official YouTube channel by Paramount+.
The release date of the new episodes is unknown, but the premiere is expected to be in late 2026 or early 2027.
What Was 'Dexter: Resurrection' Season 1 About?
After recovering from his injuries, Dexter heads to New York in search of Harrison. A killer operating in the city leaves a signature that is eerily familiar, but Dexter soon encounters a far greater threat: billionaire Leon Prater, a "collector" of serial killers.
Prater is obsessed with serial killers and invites them to his mansion once a year. There, he listens to their stories and pays for the trophies they collect. Prater also happens to have come into possession of blood from the victims of the Bay Harbor Butcher – Dexter himself.
To track down his son and find a new "client," Dexter infiltrates the club under the guise of another serial killer. He plans to get to know the killers better and then deal with them himself.
Meanwhile, Harrison struggles to come to terms with himself after the murder while detectives search for him. The hunt is also on for the elder Morgan – Angel Batista is now trying to prove that Dexter and the Bay Harbor Butcher are one and the same.
A third plotline is also unfolding: Prater's assistant and bodyguard, Charley, deduces Dexter's intentions, but she can't prove his guilt.
What Will 'Dexter: Resurrection' Season 2 Be About?
The plot of the second season remains under wraps. The New York Ripper storyline may continue and Detective Wallace, who is investigating the case, will probably ask Dexter for help.
Additionally, one of the surviving members of the Prater Club may return. The idea of Harrison becoming the next Dexter will also be explored, though he is too just and kind for that.
