We'll share everything about the highly anticipated final season.

After a four-year hiatus, Euphoria, one of the most vibrant and controversial series of the decade, is returning to HBO. The show, which redefined the teen drama genre, is entering a new phase – its characters have matured alongside the actors who play them.

Despite a long and arduous production process plagued by showrunner Sam Levinson's setbacks, the busy schedules of its now-superstar actors, and the inevitable cast losses, the third season promises to be the most ambitious yet.

The third season is scheduled to premiere on April 12. The season will consist of eight episodes, which will be released weekly.

Therefore, the story's conclusion is expected to air approximately two months after the season premiere.

The four-year gap between seasons was due to several factors: Sam Levinson's involvement with the unsuccessful series The Idol, as well as the busy schedules of the lead actors, who have become some of Hollywood's most in-demand figures.

What Will 'Euphoria' Season 3 Be About?

The third season will jump ahead five years. The characters are no longer high school students – they have graduated and are trying to build adult lives. Sam Levinson revealed several key details about the upcoming plot.

Rue begins the season in Mexico, still trying to pay off a substantial debt to her drug dealer, Laurie. Jules attends art school, Maddy works at a Hollywood talent agency, and Lexi assists a famous showrunner.

Nate and Cassie's story takes the most unexpected turn: the couple has stayed together and is preparing for their wedding in the suburbs, although Cassie isn't happy and envies her former classmates' lives.

The creators ultimately abandoned their original ideas of making Rue either a private detective or a surrogate mother.

Who Is in the Cast of Season 3 & Who Left the Series?

While almost all of the key actors are returning to their roles, the season will not be without significant losses. Angus Cloud passed away tragically, so his character will not appear in the new season.

Barbie Ferreira and Austin Abrams left the project for creative reasons, and Storm Reid will not be returning due to her university commitments.

However, viewers can expect a whole host of new stars. Among the nearly 30 new cast members are renowned figures such as Natasha Lyonne, singer Rosalía, and director Eli Roth. The biggest surprise is Hollywood legend Sharon Stone, who will play Lexi's boss.

Why Is 'Euphoria' Season 3 Worth Waiting For?

Despite the many challenges, the third season appears to be an ambitious undertaking, with the crew and actors eager to prove their worth. For Levinson, it's an opportunity to redeem himself following the failure of The Idol.

The production's scope speaks for itself: part of the season was shot in the rare VistaVision format on 35mm film, an unprecedented decision for a TV series. Hans Zimmer composed the soundtrack himself.

By placing the premiere in an April slot, the time when Game of Thrones used to air, HBO is demonstrating the highest level of confidence in the show.
