The third chapter of Morgan Gillory's adventures will be released later than expected – but that's good news.
High Potential became a hit on ABC, captivating viewers with its heroine, a cleaning lady with a high IQ who helps the LA Police Department solve complex cases.
Combining light humor with tense detective plot twists, the show quickly gained a loyal fan base and was renewed for a third season just a month before the second season finale.
The creators decided to change the usual schedule – the new season will avoid the long breaks that irritated viewers in two previous seasons.
When Will 'High Potential' Season 3 Be Released?

The third season of High Potential will premiere in 2027, but the exact release date is being kept under wraps. Initially, the media predicted that the new chapter would air in September 2026.
However, in May 2026, ABC officially announced that the series would return in early 2027. The creators explained the scheduling change as a desire to ensure the uninterrupted airing of all episodes.
The first season had a hiatus of almost two months, and the second season had one of more than two months, both of which caused audience dissatisfaction. Ari Goldman, ABC's senior vice president, said:
“We're thrilled to be able to bring it back with much more attention. We're doing our best to make this a consistent viewing experience.”
The exact episode count is being kept secret, but it will likely be 18, the same as the second season. New episodes will continue to air on ABC and Hulu.
What Happened in 'High Potential' Season 2 Finale & What Will Season 3 Be About?
In the first season, Morgan finally learned that her ex-lover Roman was alive and working as an FBI informant after disappearing fifteen years ago.
In the second season, even more shocking details emerged: Roman had collaborated with the corrupt intelligence officer Lila, and may have been involved in her death.
Captain Nick Wagner, who was working on Roman's case and was close to Morgan, was seriously injured during the investigation – he was stabbed, and his fate remains unclear.
The third season will presumably reveal whether Nick survived and continue the investigation into Roman's story. Beyond this storyline, we can expect new cases that Morgan will solve with his partner, Adam Karadec.
Who Is in the Cast of 'High Potential' Season 3?
Although the official announcement of the main cast for Season 3 has not yet been made, all key actors are expected to return. Kaitlin Olson will remain at the center of the story as Morgan, the brilliant single mother.
Daniel Sunjata will reprise his role as her partner, Detective Adam Karadec. Also returning are Deniz Akdeniz as junior detective Lev Özdil, Javicia Leslie as his talented partner Daphne, and Judy Reyes as Lieutenant Selena Soto.
However, Steve Howey, who joined the project at the beginning of Season 2, will likely not be a regular cast member – his one-year contract has expired, and there has been no news of a renewal. He may appear in a cameo role if his character survives, but that is just speculation.
