When Will 'John Wick: Under the High Table' Be Released?
The last John Wick movie, excluding Ballerina, was released in 2023. The series will continue the plot of the movie, but it is currently unknown whether Keanu Reeves will appear.
The John Wick sequel series was officially announced in the summer of 2024, one year after the premiere of the franchise's fourth installment. At that time, the creators announced the series' title: John Wick: Under the High Table.
The release date is still unknown, but some insiders expect the series to premiere in 2026.
What Will 'John Wick: Under the High Table' Be About?
Not much is known about the plot of the upcoming show, but we do know that the events will pick up immediately after the ending of the fourth movie.
In John Wick: Chapter 4, John Wick and his colleague Caine are released from the High Table, the global criminal organization consisting of twelve crime families, and Winston is reinstated as the manager of the Continental Hotel in New York.
John Wick defeats Marquis, the main antagonist played by Bill Skarsgård, but is gravely wounded and seemingly killed in the process. Following his death, the High Table finds itself in a precarious situation.
Against this backdrop, young mercenaries try to establish their own rules and gain fame, while veteran John Wick characters remain loyal to the established order.
Who Is in the Cast of 'John Wick: Under the High Table'?
The series creators promise to blend the old with the new and usher in a new era for the Wick universe. It is known that the project will feature both familiar characters from John Wick and new ones.
Currently, Keanu Reeves is only listed as an executive producer on the series. There has been no announcement regarding his potential role. The other actors involved in John Wick: Under the High Table have not yet been announced either.
Who Makes 'John Wick: Under the High Table'?
According to official reports, Chad Stahelski, director of the John Wick tetralogy, will direct at least the pilot episode of the series.
It is still unknown who will direct the remaining episodes. Stahelski will also serve as an executive producer on the project, and his company, 87Eleven Entertainment, will handle the series.
Producer and screenwriter Robert Levine, who wrote the series Black Sails and See, will serve as showrunner. Erica Lee and Basil Iwanyk, who previously worked on the spinoff Ballerina, are also on the production team.
