The fourth season of Ryan Murphy's anthology won't be long in coming.

The series has already been renewed for a fourth season, which will recount the story of Lizzie Borden – a woman tried for the murder of her father and stepmother, but ultimately acquitted.
Here is what we know about the plot and cast of the upcoming season.
When Will 'Monster' Season 4 Be Released?
On October 3, 2025, the third season of Monster, telling about Ed Gein, was released on Netflix.
Several months earlier, in July, the show was renewed for a fourth season, and filming began in September. Filming is expected to continue until March 2026.
Although Netflix has not yet set a release date for the fourth season, since filming is expected to conclude in March, the show may premiere as early as next fall.
What Will 'Monster' Season 4 Be About?

The next season of the anthology will focus on the high-profile Lizzie Borden case from Massachusetts. In 1892, her father, Andrew Borden, a wealthy but stingy businessman, and his second wife, Abby, were brutally murdered in their home – chopped to death with an axe.
Lizzie was the prime suspect – she had a strained relationship with her father, who constantly criticized her, and she hated her stepmother, suspecting her of greed.
Despite the circumstantial evidence and conflicting testimony, Lizzie was acquitted at her 1893 trial. The true killer was never found, leading to two main theories: Lizzie or her uncle John Morse, who visited the house before the murders, are considered guilty.
After the trial, Lizzie became an outcast and lived alone for the rest of her life, dying in 1927.
The Lizzie Borden case has been adapted several times, including the TV series The Lizzie Borden Chronicles, starring Christina Ricci, and the movie Lizzie, starring Chloë Sevigny and Kristen Stewart.
