The Season 5 finale left the main characters (and the audience) in shock – we saw the demise of the famous true crime podcaster, Cinda Canning.
Before her death, Canning had been recording a new episode titled "The Girl with the Curls," which focused on a British woman suspected of killing a member of the royal family. Canning believed the woman was innocent and had planned to bring her to the US for her safety.
However, Cinda never got the chance to carry out her plan. This left Mabel, Oliver, and Charles with a dual mission: to find the killer who took their colleague's life and to finish the case she had started. For the first time, they will record their podcast in another country – the United Kingdom.
According to John Hoffman, the team spent a long time considering where the story might unfold next. The answer came naturally: the homeland of Agatha Christie and Arthur Conan Doyle, authors who laid the foundation for the detective genre.
Who Is in the Cast of 'Only Murders in the Building' Season 6?
Selena Gomez, Martin Short, and Steve Martin will reprise their roles. New actors joining the cast include Martin Freeman, Sharon Horgan, and Jamie Demetriou, as well as Doctor Who stars David Tennant and Jodie Whittaker and The Crown's Adrian Lukis.
In June 2026, it was revealed that Bridgerton stars Nicola Coughlan and Simone Ashley would appear in the season, though their roles remain unknown.
It's not yet known whether Meryl Streep will return for the sixth season, though she was reportedly spotted in London around the time filming began.
