Everything You Need to Know About 'Scrubs' Revival: Release Date, Plot, Cast & More
We'll soon find out if the return of the cult medical sitcom will be a triumph or a flop.
The iconic series Scrubs, which ran from 2001 to 2010, is returning. This time, the show will feature almost the entire original cast, and it will retain the spirit that made us fall in love with J.D., Turk, Elliot, and Dr. Cox.
We'll let you know when the premiere is, what the new episodes will be about, and which old friends will be returning.
When Will 'Scrubs' Season 10 Be Released?
The new season of Scrubs premieres on February 25, 2026. ABC will air the first two episodes, which will be released on Hulu the following day.
The revived Scrubs will have nine episodes in total and will air weekly on Wednesdays.
What Will 'Scrubs' Season 10 Be About?

The story takes place many years after the events of the original series. J.D., Turk, and Elliot are no longer fresh-faced residents, they are now experienced doctors.
J.D., the former primary narrator and childish dreamer, has become disillusioned with the public health system and now views the world with a more mature perspective.
The plot centers on J.D. and Turk's return to Sacred Heart Hospital, where they work together and train a new generation of interns.
Medicine and patients have changed, and young doctors are completely different. However, the creators promise that their friendship has stood the test of time. The creators intend for new characters to remain in the background, giving screen time to the beloved original characters.
J.D. will serve as the narrator once again – not as a twenty-five-year-old with a rich imagination, but as a grown man who has experienced professional burnout.
Who Is in the Cast of 'Scrubs' Season 10 & Who Will Not Return for the Revival?

The reboot's biggest draw is the return of the entire original cast. Zach Braff will reprise his role as J.D., Donald Faison will return as Turk, Sarah Chalke will reprise her role as Elliot, Judy Reyes will return as Carla, and John C. McGinley will once again play Dr. Cox.
Robert Maschio will return as Todd, a surgeon, and Phill Lewis will reprise his role as Hooch, an unstable orthopedist.
New doctors will be played by Vanessa Bayer and Joel Kim Booster, while Ava Bunn, Jacob Dudman, David Gridley, Layla Mohammadi, and Amanda Morrow will join the cast of young interns.
Unfortunately, not everyone will be returning. Ken Jenkins, who played chief of staff Dr. Kelso, will not appear in the new episodes. The 85-year-old actor has retired from acting.
Neil Flynn, the unforgettable Janitor, has not yet confirmed his role, but Zach Braff has promised that he could return if the series is renewed for a second season.
Sam Lloyd, who played the timid lawyer Ted, died of brain cancer in 2020. The creators decided not to replace him but honored their colleague's memory by featuring a bar called Lloyd's Tavern where the employees will hang out after work.
