In 2023, Apple TV+ premiered Silo, a dark science fiction series about people living in an isolated underground bunker who believe the world above has been destroyed.
Based on Hugh Howey's dystopian trilogy of the same name, the show became an instant hit. The second season premiered in late 2024, and in December, it was renewed for a third and fourth season, announcing that they would be filmed back-to-back.

When Will 'Silo' Season 3 Be Released?
The first episode of the third season of Silo will premiere on Apple TV+ on July 3, 2026. Season 3 will consist of ten 50-minute episodes, released weekly.
Seasons 3 and 4 are being filmed back-to-back to reduce production costs and shorten the time between releases.
Showrunner Graham Yost revealed that the script for the final chapter is complete, so fans won't have to wait long to find out what happens in the finale.
What Happened in Seasons 1 & 2?
Silo is set in a post-apocalyptic future. After a global catastrophe, ten thousand survivors live in a massive, 144-story underground bunker. They are convinced that the surface is mortally dangerous.
The plot centers on Juliette, a mechanic who tries to discover how the bunker came to be and if the outside world is truly dangerous. By the end of the first season, Juliette makes it to the surface and survives, discovering that the bunker is part of a massive network.
In the second season, Juliette explores Silo 17, which is almost completely deserted and flooded. On the top floors, she only found a crazed IT specialist and a few children.
Meanwhile, back in her home Silo 18 a revolution was brewing. People sought to overthrow Mayor Bernard and uncover the truth about Juliette's fate. In the season finale, Juliette learned of The Safeguard, a canister of poisonous gas capable of destroying the rebels.
She returned to Silo 18 and warned the people that it was unsafe for them to go to the surface. Mayor Bernard was about to commit suicide, but Juliette convinced him not to.
When the characters attempted to return to the bunker, they found themselves in a sealed room with a deadly air purification system.
What Will 'Silo' Season 3 Be About?
The third season is expected to reveal the mystery of Silo 17 and explain who created the entire bunker system. Since the series is based on the second book in the trilogy, Shift, the plot will delve into the past to reveal how the bunkers were built.
The creators promise that Juliette will survive and remain a key character.
