It's time to refresh your memory.

On May 13, the final chapter of the Good Omens series will be revealed to the world. Rather than the standard six episodes, fans will be treated to a 90-minute movie, making it difficult to call the upcoming project a season.

This change was prompted by the situation surrounding Neil Gaiman. Out of respect for fans, the creators couldn't end the series on a cliffhanger, but the controversy forced them to shorten the runtime.

Before moving on to the finale, let's recap the key events of the first two seasons.

What Happened in 'Good Omens' Season 1?

The plot revolves around the unlikely friendship between two opposites: the angel Aziraphale and the demon Crowley, who live on Earth. Together, they confront the powers of Heaven and Hell in order to preserve humanity and the balance of good and evil.

Eleven years before the end of the world, Crowley is tasked with delivering Satan's son to the family of the American ambassador. However, on the same day, another child is born in the hospital, and a mix-up causes the Antichrist to be named Adam Young and raised by an ordinary family in Oxfordshire.

When the time comes to release Cerberus, the dog runs not to the ambassador in America but to Adam in the English countryside. Aziraphale and Crowley, who have been secretly friends for millennia, try to find the true Antichrist and stop Armageddon.

They are being watched by the archangel Gabriel and the prince of darkness, Beelzebub.

In the finale, all the characters converge in the village of Tadfield. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse activate nuclear warheads around the world. Anathema, a hereditary witch, and Newt, a witch hunter's descendant, help stop the launch.

Adam renounces his devilish heritage and sends Satan back to Hell. Crowley and Aziraphale switch bodies to escape punishment from both sides.

What Happened in 'Good Omens' Season 2?

The Archangel Gabriel visits Aziraphale's bookshop completely naked. The angel has amnesia and remembers nothing of his past life. He is smiling and friendly, even with Crowley. Gabriel names the angel Jim and puts him to work in the shop.

A search for the missing archangel begins in heaven and hell. Crowley and Aziraphale hide Gabriel by performing a joint miracle. Their interaction is so powerful that a massive trace of magic is detected in Heaven. The scribe Muriel is sent to the bookstore to observe.

Meanwhile, Aziraphale tries to set up two lonely shop assistants from Wickber Street, Nina and Maggie. He throws a Pride and Prejudice-themed ball while demons surround the shop.

Crowley convinces the demons to release the humans, then surrenders to Gabriel to gain entry to Heaven.

It turns out that Gabriel opposed the next Armageddon. They demoted him, but he outsmarted his superiors and escaped by uploading his memory into a fly. Beelzebub, who is revealed to be a woman, confesses her love for Gabriel.

Metatron offers Aziraphale the position of Supreme Archangel. Crowley begs his friend to refuse because he distrusts the celestials.

However, Aziraphale leaves, where Metatron informs him that the Second Coming is near. Muriel stays to look after the store, and a distraught Crowley leaves alone.
