The new 'Star Wars' series has not yet been released, but it looks like its main star is ready to swing the lightsaber in a possible second season.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is eagerly awaited by fans of a galaxy far, far away who want to learn more about their favorite Jedi. The 6-episode series, directed by Deborah Chow, is advertised as a miniseries focusing on one of the most complex characters in space opera history in detail, and the cast involved certainly lives up to the high expectations placed on the project. Ewan McGregor will be joined by Rupert Friend, Joel Edgerton and Hayden Christensen, who will return to his iconic Darth Vader role.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, McGregor responded when asked if he would like to return for more adventures in the George Lucas-created world, stating that "Yeah, I would like to make another [season]."

Although the show was developed as a mini-series, Disney may reconsider its decision if 'Obi-Wan Kenobi' performs well on their streaming service. McGregor is ready to star for a few more seasons, so the decision rests entirely with Kathleen Kennedy and her team.

Fans on Reddit are wondering what a second season could be about, given that the main 'Star Wars ' villain will already appear in the Disney+ series in a matter of weeks.

'Obi-Wan Kenobi' will arrive on Disney+ on May 27, 2022.
