'Fallout' Season 2 Finale: What Is The Enclave & Who Are the Deathclaws, Explained
Your guide to the Season 2 finale of one of the best game adaptations ever.
The second season of Fallout concluded with events that brought the universe's greatest and most powerful threat to the forefront: the mysterious organization The Enclave.
The season finale also revealed the origins of the Wasteland's most terrifying creatures and set the stage for future conflicts. We will explore the key concepts revealed in the finale and what to expect from Season 3.
What Is The Enclave & What Are Its Goals?

The Enclave is a secretive military-political organization composed of senior members of the pre-war government and elite who ruled the country even before the nuclear war. In the game universe, The Enclave is the main antagonist.
The Enclave controls all corporations, including Vault-Tec and RobCo Industries. The Enclave's ultimate goal is to control the entire Wasteland. They plan to purge the area of mutants, including ghouls and super mutants.
Then, they will rebuild a society entirely under their leadership. In this society, only the chosen few will be considered truly human.
Hank MacLean was likely also an Enclave agent, and his mind-control chips were part of their grand plan to subjugate humanity.
Who Are the Deathclaws and Super Mutants?

Both mutant species are the result of The Enclave's experiments with the Forced Evolutionary Virus (FEV). Deathclaws were created to be the perfect bioweapon: huge, strong, and ferocious creatures. However, they were impossible to control.
After the war, they escaped and became some of the most dangerous predators in the Wasteland.
Super mutants are humans who were exposed to the same FEV virus. They possess superhuman strength and endurance but retain their intelligence, unlike Deathclaws.
What Did the Post-Credits Scene From 'Fallout' Season 2 Finale Show?
In a scene set at the San Fernando compound of the Brotherhood of Steel, Maximus' friend Dane presents the plans for Liberty Prime to the fanatical Elder Cleric Quintus. In the game, Liberty Prime is a colossal combat robot and one of the most powerful weapons ever created.
With access to this technology, Quintus' radical and rebellious Brotherhood, which seeks to purify the Wasteland by force, will become an incomparably more dangerous force.
This poses a direct threat to the Brotherhood of Steel, the New California Republic, and all free citizens, significantly complicating the political landscape next season.
What to Wait For From 'Fallout' Season 3 & When Will It Be Released?

After finding empty cryo-chambers and a note from his wife, Cooper travels to Colorado to find his family and possibly attack The Enclave with a cold fusion sample.
Meanwhile, Lucy and Maximus remain in New Vegas, where they contact Mr. House's digital consciousness to learn the truth about Cooper's role in the apocalypse. Hank's fate remains uncertain after he loses his memory.
Filming for the third season is scheduled to begin in May 2026. Given the pace of production for previous seasons, the premiere on Amazon Prime Video could be in summer 2027.
