They say Cillian Murphy has what it takes to be a brilliant addition to the 007 franchise.

Cillian Murphy has had a long and fruitful career, appearing in countless films over the years in both leading and supporting roles.

And now, with the buzz surrounding the actor's appearance as the "father of the atomic bomb" in the upcoming Christopher Nolan film Oppenheimer, fans of his work have made a surprising observation.

According to them, Murphy would have killed it if he were part of the James Bond franchise.

Some believe that his smooth British (well, Irish, to be exact) looks, which have an almost aristocratic feel to them, coupled with his impressive acting talent, would have made him a brilliant casting choice.

Others say that Murphy was born to play a Bond villain. As they point out, the villains often end up being even more memorable than 007 himself, completely stealing every scene they're in.

Mads Mikkelsen, Javier Bardem, and Christoph Waltz have all been absolutely stunning in the recent Bond films starring Daniel Craig, not to mention many others who have appeared in the earlier installments of the franchise.

These roles probably require even more acting talent than the agent himself, as they are usually extremely complicated, eloquent and polite, yet have a menacing presence compared to the rather simple character of Bond.

Cillian already has very distinctive facial features that make him look a bit intimidating, and as mentioned above, he also has a sophisticated look and immense talent.

Combine all of this and you have a great Bond villain that would be on par with other great performances before him.

Although it is unlikely that he will ever play Bond, playing the villain is another matter entirely, and perhaps one day fans will see their dream come true with some new variation of Bond that will inevitably be made in the future.

For now, they express their respect and appreciation for the actor and eagerly await the upcoming biopic.

Oppenheimer is based on the book American Prometheus by Kai Bird and Martin J. Sherwin and will tell the story of Robert Oppenheimer, an American theoretical physicist who created the atomic bomb.

The movie will be released on July 21, 2023.
