It looks like Marvel fans are loving franchise's latest hero addition, with Xochitl Gomez receiving great reviews for her turn as America Chavez in 'Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness'.
America Chavez was introduced in the original Marvel comics back in 2011, and her rapidly growing popularity has only solidified her position among other, more esteemed heroes. Her appearance in the MCU has been long overdue, but after it finally happened to much applause from Chavez's many fans, it looks like Kevin Feige and Co. aren't going to let her out of their sight anytime soon, incorporating her into other projects and developing her solo projects.
According to 'Doctor Strange 2' screenwriter Michael Waldron, America Chavez's future is certainly bright, and several projects are already in the works. The main question about her character's origins was left unanswered in the latest Marvel installment, and Waldron believes that answers to questions about Chavez's family should be obtained in her solo projects.
"Really, that is as much about trying to drive America's story in this film, as it is attempting to set up a mystery to be solved in the future. She's somebody without a family. That's what she's searching for. Getting into the real specificity of her with her parents came a little bit later in the process. It felt, at least to me initially, that maybe we should hold some of that back. It felt like the sort of stuff you'd rather answer when you're getting into America's solo outing," Waldron revealed to Vanity Fair.
Fans are obviously ecstatic with this turn of events, declaring their happiness in anticipation of appropriate solo movies or TV series with America in the spotlight.
Other fans are already juggling ideas about what her future projects might be about, with some interesting concepts entering the conversation.
