The upcoming spinoff may finally get everyone’s approval.

NCIS ’ brand new show has been booed by the franchise’s long-standing fans, but things may change radically after a recent update from the production set.

Following NCIS’ biggest figure Leroy Jethro Gibbs during his earlier years as a Special Agent, the upcoming spinoff is set to dive deeper into the character’s past and show what made him who he was in the original series.

However, many went from utter excitement to skepticism after the series gave a first sneak peek into young Gibbs’ look. The issue was nonetheless quickly resolved, seemingly returning fans their hope for the future show’s accurate portrayal of the legendary character.

Back in May, NCIS: Origins unveiled the first promo image of the spinoff expecting to see a raving reaction from potential viewers, but all that the franchise eventually got was backlash.

In the picture, Austin Stowell, who in the show portrays young Leroy Jethro Gibbs, is seen wearing somewhat long hair, something that was quick to garner everyone’s attention and unite NCIS’ fans in their decision to boycott NCIS: Origins.

A harmless observation eventually turned into another reason to doubt the upcoming spinoff’s accurate take on its lead character, since Gibbs has always been known for his short haircut that he would never change.

Outraged by the promo photo, many fans claimed that, though it may have seemed something insignificant, Gibbs’s specific haircut was always signaling his firmness and stability regarding the character’s personal views and work principles.

A couple of months after the whole fuss, the show’s creators have apparently become aware of their mistake and fixed it, hoping to deserve some credit from those who have firmly decided to ignore the upcoming series no matter what.

NCIS: Origins’ actress Mariel Molino has recently shared an update about the whole production process posting some behind-the-scenes content in her social media.

Surprisingly, Austin Stowell with a brand new short haircut was there proving that the spinoff was still considerate regarding Gibbs’ appearance.

NCIS: Origins will premiere on CBS this fall.
